Trinity Episcopal Church – Williamsport, Pennsylvania U.S.A.

As I paused to frame this photo, I heard the church bells tolling…

“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were: any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. “,  excerpt from John Donne’s Meditation XVII.

And so it is, we collectively share this earth.

It’s interesting to note that lumber barron, Peter Herdic donated the land and/or built this church and many of the numerous churches here in Williamsport, PA.  The church denomination was never in question, he gave freely to all. His legacy remains for all generations to see.
